Estella and Luther Bines. Luther arrived in California in April 1942 - in the U.S. Army's coastal artillery. He was assigned to the town of Avila, now Avila Beach, for a few months. Estella left their home in Georgia to join him in September. They continued to make their home in San Luis Obispo. Luther is deceased - 1990.
